
Legenju Vitalise Nkemngong is a partner at the Poubom and Partners Law Firm. Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Courts of The Gambia and Cameroon. He graduated from the Gambia Law School as the most outstanding Student in 2012 and served as a State Counsel working very closely with the Gambian Attorney General and Minister of Justice. As a State Counsel, he served as one of the lead prosecutors of the Special Criminal Division of The Gambia High Court and was later transferred to the Civil Law and International Litigation Division where he prosecuted civil cases and advised the Government on Human Rights and related issues. In recent years, he has dedicated his legal practice to defending the basic human rights of victims of repressive regimes. He possesses substantial international experience with a particular focus on Public Interest Litigation, Criminal litigation and Human Rights. He served as the Buea Head of the Fako Lawyers Association (FAKLA) Pro Bono Task Force which was setup to provide free legal assistance to all those arrested as a result of the ongoing socio-political crisis in Anglophone Cameroon.
