He is the current managing partner of Poubom and Partners Law Firm. Akonteh is an advocate and solicitor, sworn into the Cameroon Bar in 2015. He has a firm academic and professional background in international law. He is grounded in Alternative Dispute Resolution with professional certificates from United States Institute of Peace (USIP) and the Peace Operation Training Institute (POTI) United States of America.
Akonteh has served as Legal Director and Representive for Central Africa and Francophone African Countries of the Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa.
He has over 15 years experience in Civil Society in Promoting the rule of law and democracy through international partnerships and experiences with the National Endowment for Democracry, Global Integrity U.S.A, The American Bar Association Center for Human Rights Defenders U.S.A, The Young African Leaders Initiative where he served as Board Chairperson of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, West African Regional Adivisory Board (Serving 21 African Countries), and the United States Embassy Yaounde. Akonteh is a peace crusader and is passionate about enhancing access to justice and the independence of the judiciary as the basis of equity, equality, economic growth, political stability and sustainable development.
